Elections 2024: who are the most mentioned candidates by Uruguayans?

The consultant Figure presented a Tuesday new survey who sought to answer the spontaneous question of who Uruguayans would prefer to be president in the next term.

According to the conclusions presented on Telemundo, 22% responded What would you prefer as president? in the next period to the current mayor of Canelones, the front player Yamandú Orsi.

However, faced with the open question of who would you prefer to be president for the next term, the majority said they did not know (34%).

The Cifra survey was carried out by telephone to more than 900 people between April 20 and May 3.

FA voter favorites

The consultancy also analyzed the data collected based on the party for which the respondents voted.

“Among the front members, almost four-fifths already have a preferred candidate. Orsi leads, with 44%, and Carolina Cosse follows with 22%,” says Cifra’s research.

The industry leader Renewing Force Mario Bergara collected 3%like former president José Mujica, who has already said that he will support Orsi in the internal elections of the Broad Front.

5% of this electorate would vote for another candidate, 1% would vote outside the left-wing coalition and 22% have not yet been defined.

National Party voter favorites

Álvaro Delgado leads the list of preferences among white voters with 37%, followed by Laura Raffo with 11%who has already announced that she will not be a candidate for the departmental elections and is shaping up for the national ones.

Behind them are the Vice President of the Republic, Beatriz Argimón, and the current President Lacalle Pou (although constitutionally he cannot appear), both with 4%. A remaining 3% would prefer another PN candidate.

The leader of Cabildo Abierto, Manini Ríos has 2%, as does the former Colorado candidate for the presidency, Pedro Bordaberry. On the other hand, 1% would vote for another coalition leader.

4% would vote for another party and 32% of this electorate does not know who to support.
