The BCP releases an inflation report for April

The Central Bank of Paraguay (BCP) released the inflation report for the month of April 2023, which stood at 0.4%.

With this result, the year-on-year inflation drops to 5.3% (from 6.4% the previous month), placing it within the BCP’s inflation target range.

Inflation for the month of April 2023, measured by the variation in the Consumer Price Index (CPI), was 0.4%, lower than the 1.5% variation observed in the same month of the previous year.

Through this result, cumulative inflation in the year rises to 2.5%, below 5.3% verified in the same period of 2022.

Likewise, the On the other hand, year-on-year inflation was 5.3%, a result lower than the rate of 6.4% registered in March of the current year and also lower than the rate of 11.8% verified in the same period of the previous year.

On the other hand, the BCP report indicates that the core inflation showed a rate of change monthly similar to total inflation (0.4%).

So, the year-on-year inflation, measured by this indicator, reached a variation of 5.3%below the rate of 5.8% registered in the previous month and the 7.0% observed in the same month of 2022.
