The health emergency due to the covid-19 pandemic has ended, announced the World Health Organization (WHO) and Panama assures that this is an important step to continue advancing in health.
The WHO International Health Regulations Emergency Committee discussed the pandemic this Thursday at its 15th meeting on covid-19, and the organization’s director general, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, agreed that the declaration of a public health emergency of international concern , or PHEIC, should terminate.
The Minister of Health of Panama Luis Francisco Sucre indicated that the end of the health emergency is an important step to gradually eliminate the state of pandemic and subsequently remain in an endemic stage.
“The world has been making progress in everything related to Covid-19, the WHO has announced the elimination of the state of global health emergency and it should be remembered that Panama had already lifted it in the administrative matter, but what if it is maintained in the world The whole is the pandemic stage,” Sucre said.
In Panama, by means of Cabinet Resolution No. 129 of December 29, 2021, the term for the use of the special procedure for the acquisition of goods, services or works decreed by Cabinet Resolution No. 11 of March 13, 2020 was declared concluded.
