The temperature of the last few days -around 20°C- are not the most common at this time of year. After the heat waves at the end and beginning of the year, the first days of February were not the warmest, but the trend will change in the coming days, according to forecasts.
For this Thursday, February 10, temperatures of 30°C are expected in the Metropolitan Area, and maximums of 37°C in the north of the country, according to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) and the Accuweather application. This hot climate will go down on Saturday due to the arrival of rains, but it will return to high numbers early next week.
Meteorologist Mario Bidegain told The Observer that a new heat wave is not expected for this weekbut what “it cannot be ruled out” that this phenomenon will occur again until early autumnwhile Uruguay remain “under the influence” of the meteorological phenomenon known as “La Niña”which makes the appearance of these waves more propitious.
This Thursday the northwest of the country will already have temperatures of 37 ° C, although the northeast will reach 33 ° C. In the south it will reach 30°C. On Friday the metropolitan area will have a decrease temperature at a maximum of 28 °, but the north will maintain 37 degrees, both already with slight chances of precipitation.
This Saturday, Bidegain indicated, the south will suffer a decrease marked by the rains. Accuweather predicts a temperature minimum of 17 degrees and a maximum of 21 in the south of Uruguay, with 88% chance of rain. In the northern zone, Inumet indicates that the probability of rain is “medium”, with maximum of 31° C and minimum of 15° C.
After that, both monitors predict that the week will have temperatures above 27°C in the south and 30°C in the north from Tuesday.
