The Panamanian Hockey Association is getting ready to celebrate its 2023 Senior Men’s and Women’s National Championship in the province of Chiriquí, specifically in the district of Boquete and will be dedicated to the General Director of the Panamanian Institute of Sports Luis Denis Arce.
The competition will take place from May 5 to 7 and will feature teams from Bocas del Toro, Chiriquí, Coclé, Colón, Herrera, Panama West and Panama City.
Ademir Montenegro, President of the Panamanian Hockey Association, stated that it will be the first tournament of the year in the absolute category, after holding the national children’s and youth events.
“In addition to complying with the organization’s activity plan, the tournament will also serve to select the players who will represent us in the World Cup of the category to be held in Jamaica next June,” Montenegro said.
Luis Denis Arce, General Director of the Panamanian Sports Institute, stated that he is very pleased with the distinction that the cup bears his name.
“Our obligation is to support all athletes, Pandeportes is open doors, we are here to encourage and promote this discipline in our country,” said the Director General
The modality to be played in the tournament will be 5 vs 5 and a high competitive level is expected.
