Even the former Minister of Health admitted that there were talks with President Castillo for the doctor to assume the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
However, everything changed hours later when Hernán Condori, a member of Peru Libre, was chosen to assume the Health portfolio.

What’s more, Cevallos made it known that a sector of Peru Libre was not satisfied with their work; For this reason, he was asked about the possibility that there was pressure from Peru Libre for him to leave office and the former Minister of Health indicated that decisions are made by the president.
“I do not know the qualifications of the new Minister of Health; I understand that he must be a qualified person to take on the position. This will mean giving it continuity and improving management in the Ministry of Health. Furthermore, I am persuaded because I know the president and I hope that he must have taken all the care in choosing the officials who are going to carry out a portfolio as sensitive as that of Health”, concluded the doctor.
