US Embassy offers four internships for Nicaraguan college students

The United States embassy in Nicaragua announced the opening of the Local Student Internship Program (FNSIP) in the Central American country. Opportunities to work at the diplomatic headquarters will be in the human resources office; public affairs/culture and press; general services in vehicle fleet and travel; and general housing services.

The program is designed for non-US citizen college students seeking to intern in US Missions.

“The program provides Nicaraguan students with a valuable educational experience and helps the US Embassy meet its objectives,” highlights the diplomatic headquarters.

“The purpose of the Program is to offer students the challenge of working in a field of foreign affairs, at the same time that the Embassy benefits from their help,” adds the North American delegation in Managua.

Which are the requirements?

The main requirement is to be an active student at a public or private university at the time of starting the internship; Submit requested transcripts as verification of the educational requirement prior to the open season closing date.

“Failure to submit the requested information, or the fact that the information is insufficient to verify eligibility, may result in disqualification,” he clarifies.

Headquarters notes that if the requested information is not provided, or if it is not sufficient to verify eligibility, the candidate may be disqualified from the internship. The call is open from April 24 to May 24 and will be for a period of three to six months.

“All shortlisted candidates must be able to obtain and possess a Public Trust Security Certificate in order to define the start of the internship,” he explains.
