Former President Martín Torrijos (2004-2009) formalized his candidacy for the Presidency of the Republic for the May 2024 elections by running for the Popular Party, in a local hotel and before members of this political group, he said that together with all Panamanians will seek victory at the polls.
«What we need, what we want are true politicians who enrich the country and not get rich from it. Panama does not want a “government that looks for the next turn to steal,” said Torrijos
He also asked that Panamanians trust for the upcoming elections «Panama wants and needs the turn of a “decent government”, capable of renewing confidence in ourselves and achieving the pending reforms so that progress reaches everyone and not a few .”
