For two years, from the impeachment of Donald Trump to the committee’s January 6 investigation into the assault on the Capitol, he had remained silent, refusing to answer questions.

But on Thursday, former Vice President Mike Pence testified in court as part of the investigation into Donald Trump’s attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 US presidential election.

Mike Pence, a potential Republican presidential candidate, testified for more than five hours before a grand jury in Washington about what happened after the 2020 presidential election, and Trump’s actions that led to the Capitol Hill takeover.

An annoying testimony that of Pence

According to national media, Pence was summoned to describe the details of the conversations he had with the former president on January 6, in which Trump allegedly pressured Pence to ignore and block the results of the last presidential elections.

At the time, Vice President Mike Pence, who was acting as president of the Senate, refused to follow Trump’s demands, saying that he had to follow the Constitution, even though he believed there was voter fraud.

Pence’s remarks come after Trump had tried until Wednesday night to block the former vice president from testifying before the grand jury, and in the midst of a campaign for the Republican nomination to face the Democratic party in the upcoming election.
