The Bolivian Football Federation (FBF), in an extraordinary congress held this Thursday in Santa Cruz, decided to reject the offer of the company Mediapro, for television rights of the local matches of the Bolivian team, in the next qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, which will be played in Canada, the USA and Mexico.

The president of the FBF, Fernando Costa, at the end of the congress announced the figures that were offered by the company interested in acquiring the rights to the playoffs.

“The current company has offered 8.5 million dollars gross and 7.2 netfree of taxes, which has been classified as an offensive offer for Bolivian soccer and has been rejected, because not enough for us at allit is too low ”, fixed Costa.

“The amount is much less than what the previous administration has receivedin relation to the previous qualifiers, and with respect to our Conmebol peers, it is also absolutely inferior ”, added the federative president.

It is for this reason that the FBF has decided to carry out its own transmissions through a platform, through which it hopes to raise more economic income and at the same time, provide a good product to viewers in Bolivia and abroad.

“It has been decided to exploit the transmission of the nine games we played with the Bolivian team from September and the Bolivian soccer channel will also be activated, where the Professional Division, the Women’s Division, futsal, beach soccer, as well as youth soccer and amateur soccer will be broadcast in the future,” he reported.

The agenda included 11 points. Costa made a summary one of the most important that were touched on in this extraordinary congress.

“A legal legal report was approved and everything related to that topic; The purchase of an (electric) generator for the Hernando Siles stadium has also been approved for when the Bolivian team plays the qualifying matches. Besideswe have a report on everything related to VAR Some suggestions have been received from the specialists and managers, concerns have been received by the VAR commission…”, reported Costa.
