Cecilia Cubas case: the process for the EPP rifleman is raised to oral trial

The State Attorney General, Emiliano Rolón, today received the grandfather of the girl who disappeared in Emboscada. The man asked for results and insisted on the DNA tests carried out with the samples taken from him and his maternal grandmother and which, compared with the blood traces, were positive.

At the end of the meeting with the Attorney General, Mr. Rufino Zapata spoke with the media about what was discussed in the expected meeting, in which asked that the investigation into the disappearance of the granddaughter be resumed.

In this regard, Zapata said that He again insisted on the possibility of having some clue of what happened, through DNA studies.

“He told us that he is going to see how to promote thatdespite the fact that with that we do not solve anything yet; the mother had refused the extraction, but I did it and the maternal grandmother too and the result was positive to the sample taken in Monte Pakara”, detailed the grandfather.

He indicated that, He is not satisfied with the investigation and described the prosecutors as “very lukewarm”for not acting accordingly in such a delicate case.

Asked if the prosecutor gave him any hope or assumed any specific commitment, he replied that: “He told us that the case is difficult because all the alternatives that the Prosecutor’s Office followed fell by the wayside and could not be concluded.”

Rufino Zapata confirmed that the main suspect is the German citizen who lived as a couple with the girl’s mother. Both were disassociated from the case.

The event occurred on April 15, 2020 in Ambush, when the 7-year-old girl (at the time) disappeared when she allegedly followed a couple of goats. The complaint was made by her mother just the next day and she never had any clues again, despite the numerous raids and searches.
