Insfrán decreed the agricultural emergency in Formosa

The governor of Formosa, Gildo Insfrán, declared this Tuesday the State of Agricultural Emergency for livestock and beekeeping activities establishments located throughout the provincial territory and for agriculture in the Departments of Formosa, Laishí, Pilcomayo, Pirané, Pilagás, Patiño and Bermejo.

In livestock and beekeeping, the declaration of emergency reaches rural establishments affected by rainfall deficits, high temperatures and grassland burninglocated throughout the provincial territory, informed the Formosan government.

From the analysis carried out by the Provincial Agricultural Emergency Commission, the seriousness of the farms of agricultural producers, ranchers and beekeepers with losses in its production and productive capacity that exceed 50% due to the lack of rainfall throughout the province.

The measures provided in Decree 13 released this Tuesday will be in force from January 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023.

As for the agricultural corn and cucurbit crops are covered second planting and for banana, cotton, cassava, sweet potato and peanut crops, affected by rainfall deficit from January to date, located in the Departments of Formosa, Laishí, Pilcomayo, Pirané, Pilagás, Patiño and Bermejo. It will be in force from January 1, 2022 to June 30, 2022.

According to the instrument, the Ministry of Production and Environment is designated as the enforcement agency, which must carry out the necessary procedures and provisions to comply with the established measures.

The Undersecretariat for Sustainable Production was also empowered to grant certificates to the affected producers, in accordance with the finding made by the Directorate for Sustainable Production on the losses suffered, sending their payroll to the National Agricultural Emergency and Disaster Commission.

Similarly, the Ministry of Economy, Treasury and Finance is authorized to implement the measures that are necessary for the granting of the tax benefits contemplated in the framework of Decree-Law No. 980/81.

To decree the state of Agricultural Emergency, the president evaluated the comprehensive survey of livestock, agricultural and beekeeping production carried out by the Ministry of Production and Environment.

It was carried out with the participation of the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) and the collaboration of all the institutions related to the productive sector, such as the Secretariat of Family, Peasant and Indigenous Agriculture -Formosa Delegation-, the National Service of Health and Agrifood Quality (SENASA), the Provincial Institute of Comprehensive Action for Small Agricultural Producers (Paippa), the Center for Validation of Agricultural Technologies (Cedeva), the Municipalities and producer organizations.
