I followed the discussion in Deputies for the social security reform

This Monday in the Chamber of Deputies, the discussion began about the project social security reformwhich will then be voted on at the general level. This Tuesday the article will be voted on.

In recent weeks, the reform underwent several changes – a process that President Luis Lacalle Pou compared to “to pour water to the milk”–, first at the request of the Cabildo Abierto and then the Colorado Party.

“It’s a good reform. We had a liter of milk, it kept pouring water, water, water, but it’s still milk. When it is water, there is no reform”the president affirmed anyway.

However, the president of the PIT-CNT Marcelo Abdala said on Monday that the reform “It is a hidden fiscal adjustment”, which “has remained as a collage, a cut and paste of proposals of all kinds”after the last modifications.

The trade union center called a strike with mobilization towards the Legislative Palace for Tuesday, day on which the articles of the project will be voted on.
