The Falero sector formalized support for Delgado and the minister defined him as the "natural candidate"

The Secretary of the Presidency, Alvaro Delgadoadded a new adherence to his candidacy for the 2024 elections on Saturday, after the Sumate group, led by the Minister of Transportation and Public Works, José Luis Falero, formalized its support.

The political group is also made up of Mayor Ana Bentaberri and Deputy Ruben Bacigalupe.

“I want San José today to convey to Uruguay everything that we have a great candidate, someone who knew how to be by the side of the president in the most difficult moments and is, without a doubt, our secretary of the Presidency,” said Falero.

The minister, who is also coordinator of the Aire Fresco sector, said that Delgado “is not only the ideal candidate, but this whole process in the government accompanying the president positions him as the natural candidate, which will allow us to have the peace of mind the continuity of an excellent government”.

In his speech, Falero also announced that his group should be the one that sets the course to proclaim Delgado’s candidacy at the sector congress to be held in the middle of the year.

Despite receiving support, Delgado has not yet made his presentation to the elections official, and is holding a speech in which he indicates that he is concentrating on management and that later it will be time to talk about candidacies.

Although she hasn’t started yet, it is discounted in the white internship that Laura Raffo will be a pre-candidate, promoted by Herrerismo, while Espacio 40, the group of mayors for the Best Country and National Future, of Vice President Beatriz Argimón are close to announcing a agreement although they did not define if they will promote a contender.
