Ortega banishes the Mexican-Nicaraguan activist Arnoldo Guillén, after four days of kidnapping

The political activist Arnoldo Guillenof Nicaraguan and Mexican nationality, was exiled to Mexico, at 11 in the morning of this Saturday, April 22, after he had been imprisoned since the 18th of this month, prior to the fifth anniversary of the social protests in Nicaragua.

The information was released by the former politician I the ibzan Sandino Ibarrawho detailed Article 66 that the also member of the political and digital activism organization Mentes Libres was kidnapped when he was in Corinto, Chinandega.

«On April 18, the Police came to take Don Arnoldo —Guillén— out of a hostel. They detained him with luxury of violence and transferred him to District III of the Police, in Managua, where they supposedly had him under investigation, “he recounted.

But it was not until 11 in the morning today that the opponent was banished, after the Mexican Embassy made efforts to achieve his release. “Thank God we mobilized to make his case visible and the Mexican embassy received instructions that they could intercede,” said Sandino Ibarra.

The former dictator added that the Ortega Police handed Guillén over to a Mexican consul at the Managua International Airport and then took him out of the country. “Already at the airport they had the plane ticket, where he travels without any of his relatives.”

On the other hand, the also exiled politician said that Arnoldo Guillén, originally from Monterrey, Mexico, came to Nicaragua since he was a teenager and that “he has always been an opponent of Sandinismo.” The plane was expected to arrive in the Aztec country after four in the afternoon.

Faced with this wave of repression, Yoel Sandino stated that “as always, the criminal regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo demonstrates its fear of conscious citizens and that it denounces the constant abuses against the human rights of Nicaraguans.”

Guillén’s situation is the same as what happened against the Dr. Anely Perezwho was kidnapped and later exiled, on March 25, from Nicaragua to the United States.

On February 9, the Ortega regime exiled 222 political ex-residents and removed —on the 15th of the same month— the nationality of another 94 opponents, however the list is becoming more extensive due to the increase in arbitrary detentions.

To date, the arbitrary arrests, in the context of the anniversary of the civic rebellion, exceed 30 opponents, which include the journalist from Nandaime Victor Ticayto the opponent Jason Salar already the former politician Olesia Muños.
