At 88 years of age, Eugenio Natalini, the Franciscan father who considered himself “potosino to the marrow”, passed away this Tuesday morning.
His contribution to the department of Potosí and the affection for the people is remembered with emotional messages on social networks and at the wake of his remains.
“At the age of 88, he left for the house of the Eternal Father, an illustrious son of Potosí. Fray Eugenio Natalini, our heartfelt condolences to the Franciscan community, united in prayer,” the Diocese of Potosí published on its Facebook page.
The media reports that Natalini was hospitalized for several days in the dome of the National Health Fund (CNS), after testing positive for Covid-19.

Natalini arrived in Potosí in 1963, was director of the Escuelas de Cristo, promoted culture with the Chutillos festival, in which he even danced. He never left again.

The population shared photos in which Natalini can be seen dancing in disguise, singing at school or making a bar for his team, Real Potosí.
“On behalf of all the Realist fans, we extend our sincere condolences to his family and to the Franciscan community of which this illustrious son Potosí had was a part, may the divine creator have him in his Holy Kingdom,” indicates a publication by the team of the Imperial Villa.
The municipal mayor of Potosí, Jhonny Llally highlighted the priest’s career. “Potosino from the heart, Franz Eugenio Natalini. A month ago I had the pleasure of being able to share a lunch with that person who really loves Potosí,” he recalled.
On April 9 of last year, the Senate rejected recognition of Father Natalini. On that occasion, Senator Daly Santa María proposed the name of the Franciscan because of his dedication to education and for directing the Schools of Christ, but a senator from Llallagua rejected the position. In the end, on April 25, the Senate recognized Father “Natacho’s” career.
