The play “Gratefulness Speech”, written and directed by the 2016 National Theater Award winner Carlos Celdrán, will be on stage next May 5 and 6, at 7:30 pm, at the Teatro Corral de Comedias in Alcalá de Henares, Madrid.
The director of Argos Teatro presents the piece for the first time in this space in Alcalá, after its premiere in April 2022 at the Teatro Lara in the Spanish capital, which was widely accepted by the audience and critics.
Cuban artists Rey Montesinos, Yadier Fernández, Yanet Sierra and Fidel Betancourt return as part of the cast.
The work takes place during the COVID-19 pandemic, when a renowned writer wins a literary prize that will consecrate him. The controversy in the networks is unleashed, for and against, and his thank you speech will be marked by scandal, ethics, political demands and human relations.
In the midst of this strong personal crisis, a friend from his youth reappears, who contacts him through social networks. Loneliness and isolation cause the writer to begin to evaluate the meaning of life.
