Within the framework of the Nueva Alameda Providencia project and the recovery of public spaces, the governor of the RM, Claudio Orrego, and the presidency of the Nuestro Centro Federation, Francisca Fernández, presented the billboard for the “Vive Nuestro Centro” program.
Specifically, the measure will finance 100 recreational activities for the reactivation of tourism and culture. The calendar, between April and December, includes thematic fairs, photographic, gastronomic and literary contests, plays, film days, activations with local artists, guided tours, talks, among others.
The foregoing, for the tenants, workers, SMEs and residents of the five neighborhoods most affected by the social outbreak and the pandemic, who are gathered under the umbrella of the Nuestro Centro Federation: Bellas Artes, Bellavista, Bustamante, Lastarria, Plaza Italia and surroundings.
In this sense, Orrego pointed out that “we are about to recover and return the city to the people. It is important to give a hand to the entrepreneurs, merchants and artisans who suffered the sum of crises that we have had in recent years.”
“If the center dies, the city dies, and if it revives, the city revives, so we want to return the soul of Santiago with culture and spaces for tourists and citizens so that they can enjoy our center again,” the governor added.
On the other hand, the president of the Nuestro Centro Federation, Francisca Fernández, commented that “our neighborhoods are waiting for you, and for that we have prepared a wide variety of activities and events for all audiences. Everyone has a space in Nuestro Centro, as well We are waiting for you so that together we can enjoy and relive the charms of Bellas Artes, Bellavista, Bustamante, Lastarria and Plaza Italia.
It should be noted that the authorities present extended the invitation to the public to attend an expo of flowers and plants that will take place this Saturday on the esplanade of Plaza Baquedano. The activity will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will culminate with a presentation of La Pérgola de las Flores at around 6:30 p.m.
