The President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric, together with the Government Spokesperson Minister, Camila Vallejo, officially presented the new minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency (Segpres), Álvaro Elizalde (PS), after the abrupt departure of Ana Lya Uriarte from the portfolio due to health problems.
From the Palacio de La Moneda, the head of state revealed that he commissioned the new head of the Segpres to “build bridges with all the democratic political forces whose north is the good of Chile, here we have to talk until it hurts.”

After being introduced, Elizalde remarked that his work will be focused on generating alliances in Congress, with a call for unity.
“I think we have a huge challenge, which is to promote democratic dialogue with all the actors to move towards understandings that allow the transformation agenda that the president has committed to become a reality,” he declared.
It should be remembered that the now former Maule senator was appointed this Wednesday afternoon as the new Segpres minister.
