Bolivian electric car company bets on the Cuban market

The bolivian company Quantum Motors SA, producer of electric vehicles and accessories, is interested in venturing into the market Cuban, where he identifies good prospects for development.

The spokesman for the venture, located in the department of Cochabamba, also highlighted that the quality of the batteries of Quantum it is far superior to those currently marketed in Cuba, a conclusion reached after a qualitative study of the market.

He also clarified that the talks to channel the marketing of Quantum products on the island are at an advanced stage.

Soruco indicated that they now intend to attend the tenth edition of the largest economic-commercial promotional event of the Latin American Integration Association (ExpoAladi-2023), which will be held from October 2 to 4 in Havana. It will include a business macro-round.

Likewise, they considered repeating the experience at FIHAV this year as “a step in the right direction”, since they consider that “in Cuba there is a lot of maturity regarding electric vehicles and Quantum batteries are a very good product for its population” .

The director of the company created by a group of young Bolivians in 2019, assures that this venture has had rapid growth both in Bolivia and outside the country, and in this regard he mentioned the expansion to Peru, Paraguay, El Salvador and Mexico, where a plant is built.

He recalled that the corporation arose from seeing the need for an innovative product that would allow non-polluting mobiles to be achieved. “We also take into account that we are in Bolivia, the country with the largest lithium reserves in the world,” he told PL.

“Today we have a plant in Cochabamba, Bolivia, with a production capacity of approximately 30 cars per month, and we also sell different brands of electric motorcycles, bicycles, and skateboards,” Soruco described.

In turn, he valued the acceptance of these products as very good, especially in countries where fuel is not subsidized by the Government, such as Bolivia, and is more expensive.

“Electromobility, in addition to being friendly to the environment, is much cheaper,” the lawyer concluded.
