The Minister of Health Luis Francisco led a tour of the facilities of the new Las Mañanitas health center on Tuesday with the main objective of verifying the progress of the work, which is close to 90% and which is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
Minister Sucre explained that the inspection of this project is accompanied by the Budget Commission of the National Assembly that oversees and executes where a transfer of departure will be requested to reinforce the work within this work.
“We are at the same time talking with the company and workers, on behalf of the National Government, promoting so that this work is completed as soon as possible,” said Sucre.
He reiterated that as the accounts have been submitted, they have been paid and said that the financial progress is at 40%; however, transfers are managed to cover what is pending.
The head of the Health portfolio also indicated that this new health center will have a wide portfolio of services not only in terms of promotion and prevention, but also includes outpatient consultation, mainly general medicine, laboratory, emergency room, and it is planned to have with specialties pediatrics, dentistry and gynecology.
He announced that in parallel progress is being made in other works at the national level such as the Children’s Hospital, the Manuel A. Guerrero Hospital, the Aquilino Tejeira Hospital, the new Health Police Center in the Chepo district, the Valle de Antón Health Center.
The new health center will have a positive impact, benefiting close to 90,000 inhabitants and access to services to other adjacent communities such as Tocumen, Pedregal, as was done in the old center.
Also present on this tour were the Regional Director of Metropolitan Health Israel Cedeño, the infrastructure director of MINSA, Carlos Candanedo; the director of Provision of Health Services Ivonne Villarreal among other government authorities.
