Be careful!, Minsa warns about the effects of heat and exposure to the sun

The Ministry of Health, Chiriquí region, warned the population about the risk posed by high temperatures and prolonged exposure to ultraviolet sunlight.

The health educator, Hairo Correa, recommended constant hydration, eye protection with dark glasses and body protection with hats, appropriate clothing, and skin protection.

“People should avoid outdoor activities during the hours of greatest heat and sun exposure; that is, from nine in the morning to four in the afternoon,” said the official.

The heat and prolonged exposure to the sun can cause sleep disturbances, exhaustion, cramps, muscle damage and skin rashes that can lead to cancer, so it is imperative to protect yourself and drink as much fluid as possible.

Currently the temperature in our country oscillates between 29 and 37 degrees Celsius and the tendency is for it to increase progressively due to global warming and the massive deforestation of green areas.
