Relatives of patients with cystic fibrosis protested outside the 2020 National Assembly (AN) headquarters to ask its president, Jorge Rodríguez, to attend to the sector. They assured that their children are dying because the Ministry of Health does not give them answers.

At the demonstration, the relatives of the patients reported that in December 2022, authorities from the Ministry of Health promised to deliver the medicines and to date they have received no answers. They detailed that they created a WhatsApp group to be in communication and the relatives of patients with cystic fibrosis say that they do not even answer the messages.
The demonstrators were received by deputies of the Permanent Commission for Social and Family Development of the Chavista-majority Parliament and by the Vice Minister of Health. They agreed to update the registry of patients with cystic fibrosis, to send the authorities the list of medications they urgently require, as well as to carry out a social study of each family in order to give them the medications.
