Unanimously, the deputies of the Legislative Council of the Bolívar state (Cleb), rejected during an ordinary session the pronouncement of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), and established a position in defense of national sovereignty that includes the Essequibo as part of Venezuela.
The deputies criticized the way in which the ICJ has been dealing with the issue and pointed out that the entity has ignored each piece of evidence presented by the Bolivarian diplomatic team, for which reason they called on each political and social sector that makes a living to be attentive and defend sovereignty national.
The agreement reached by the Cleb adds to the different samples that have been given at the national level in support of the territorial defense of Venezuela, therefore, the regional plenary urged all political activists to establish a position in rejection of the pronouncement of the International Court of Justice.
The president of the Cleb, Armando Barreto, pointed out that the Venezuelan State will continue to adhere to the law and will defend the truth of Venezuela before the necessary instances, for which reason he dismissed any appeal or protection issued by the counterparty, since they lack all veracity.
He also recalled that the territory of Essequibo belonged to Venezuela, long before the Republic of Guyana was formed in 1966 as a nation, for which reason he maintains that it is inadmissible that you try to ignore more than 150 years that support this reality proposed by Venezuela.

Finally, in the session, the resources requested by the regional Executive that will be allocated to the organization of the “Expo Bolívar Productiva 2023” to be held at the CTE Cachamay, on April 20, 21 and 22, were approved as a second point.
