A team from the Bolivian Society of Engineers (SIB)subsidiary Santa Cruz, will visit -this week- San Ignacio de Velasco to carry out a chemical analysis of your water. Roly Mancilla, vice president of that organization, indicated that the group will be made up of engineers environmental sanitarians and chemical engineerswho will take the respective samples.

“We do not want to alarm the population; the water, noor we know if it is contaminated; we think not. The color can be provided by these algae or little plants, which grow around the banks of the reservoir (of the dam) or also by the rains we have had, the water stirs and sediments remain in suspension”, Mancilla stated.

This group obtained the approval of the mayor of San Ignacio, Ruddy Dorado, who indicated in a press conference that will accompany the visit of the engineersalong with officials from the Council and the water cooperative.

Dorado referred to the wells that the Ignatian Municipality will drill to supply itself with water, with Bs 2.5 million available as royalties and that will allow them, in four years, drill a hundred; He indicated that they already have the respective studies to carry out these tasks.

On the other hand, he regretted that the work announced by the Governor’s Office to drill wells had not been possible, when San Ignacio was in an emergency due to the drought.

Meanwhile, the assembly of members of Coosiv, the San Ignacio water cooperative, which was to be held on Saturday the 15th, noor managed to solve the doubts of the neighbors and, due to the disorder that was registered, he had to enter an intermediate room, until this Tuesday the 18th. This is also how the cooperative made it known, through its social networks.

Ignatians like Shirly León and Luis Bauer expressed their dissatisfaction with the way in which the assembly was developed.

León told EL DEBER that on the agenda Complaints and claims were not considered of the users and partners about water quality, and that it had been called to approve management reports and financial reports that were not finally approved.

It was a mess; practically nothing was achieved in that assembly, to no conclusion, nothing was approved. Only the audit report was read, which was left there (without approval), too”, Bauer told Cablesiv TV.

Leon stated that the reports were confusing and that it was not clear how it is that, on the one hand, there was a remainder in cash from the previous administration; while, on the other, a deficit is reported.

The partners were informed that a consulting company was hired to will build a treatment plant and that the cooperative awaits the results of the studies that the Government and its technicians carried out with samples taken from the water of the Guapomó dam, last week, indicated León.

Bauer regretted that he had not turned up no proposals in the short or medium termto solve the issue of water that affects the Ignatians.

For several months the residents of that municipality have opened the tap and the water that comes out is dark, smelly and sometimes muddy. For this reason, they cannot even wash clothes with that liquid, let alone drink it or use it for cooking, according to what they said.

For its part, Coosiv, through its social networks, published photos in which it shows personnel carrying out tank cleaning and maintenance of your Plant 1.
