The Minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency (Segpres), Ana Lya Uriarte (PS), requested the extension of his medical license due to a picture of anemia, a product of the sequelae left by Covid-19.
The Secretary of State has requested four consecutive times to extend her license, considering the current request. Uriarte will be a month out of her duties this week.
The Undersecretary of the Portfolio, Macarena Lobos, is replacing the work of Uriarte. In turn, the head of the Segpres Political Relations Division, Nicholas Facuse (PS), has assumed the duties of Lobos.
The replacement team has faced different legislative challenges, such as the Naín-Retamal Law.
At the moment it is not known how long it will take for Uriarte to return to the Segpres.
