Police in Spain dismantle prostitution network that recruited Venezuelan women

The Spanish National Police explained that those who recruited women into the prostitution network deceived them upon arrival in the country. They were told that they had a debt of 3,000 euros and that they had to pay it in a brothel in Orense


The National Police of Spain reported this Monday, April 17, that a prostitution network that captured women from Venezuela and Colombia through social networks was dismantled, in an operation that was carried out in two locations in the Iberian nation.

During the operation that took place in Madrid and Orense, the Iberian security agents released at least five of the victims and arrested seven people, allegedly linked to the network that sexually exploited captive women in a house.

In addition to the arrests and releases, Spanish National Police officers seized more than 18,000 euros in cash; alleged drug, two mobile phones and documents.

The authorities began the investigations when “a criminal organization of Colombian origin” was detected that captured the victims “through social networks or through some direct contact who knew of their situation of vulnerability and economic need,” it detailed in a statement.

There, according to the Spanish National Police, the women were convinced to travel to the Iberian nation and they were explained what they had to do to avoid being detected by the security forces at the air terminal. They were given documents and money “without arousing suspicion at the border.”

When they arrived at their destination, the criminals of the prostitution network told the women that they had an alleged debt of 3,000 euros and that the only way to pay it was to sell their body “in a dating apartment” in Orense.

«They had to be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, they could not refuse any service, they received a very small part of the benefits, since all the money earned was taken from them to pay off their debt and they could not leave the house, only They left escorted in case they were going to carry out a service outside the home, “said the Police.

Those arrested are accused of crimes such as human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

TO mid marchofficials of the Criminal Investigation Service (SIP) of the Chacao police, Miranda state, dismantled an alleged international prostitution network that operated in Venezuela.

The Chacao SIP director explained that members of the gang obtained intimate videos of the victims and promoted them in WhatsApp groups. The official pointed out that the content was offered at 50, 60 or even 150 dollars. In addition, he warned that if there was an affective international connection, they could transfer women through alleged packages to sexually exploit them.
