This was indicated by the Colombian Foreign Ministry in a message on the social networks without giving further details about it, although it is accompanied by two photos where Maduro is seen talking with Leyva in the Miraflores Palace; without giving further details about it.

Meanwhile, the press release from the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry indicates that Leyva’s visit to Caracas was carried out in order to “continue energizing the bilateral agenda” and “review the cooperation agenda”; without mentioning anything about the conference called at the end of March by the Colombian president, Gustavo Petro.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombia, Álvaro Leyva, confirmed the Thursday April 13 that the international conference announced a few days ago by President Gustavo Petro will take place, to reactivate the dialogue between the Venezuelan government and the opposition.
Leyva, during a presentation at the UN Security Council on the situation of the peace agreements, indicated that the participation of representatives of some 15 countries is estimated, including the United States, Canada and various Latin American and European states, in addition of the European Union. However, she did not say anything about a possible presence of President Nicolás Maduro.
Subsequently, and before rumors that Maduro would be present at the meeting, the head of Colombian diplomacy ruled out the visit of Nicolás Maduro to Bogotá for the conference.
“It’s an invention. President Maduro is not coming. I have never said that he is coming. The Palacio de Nariño has never said it ”, Leiva said.
The talks between the Government and the opposition are at a standstill after the meeting in November in Mexico, where they signed the Second Partial Agreement for the Protection of the Venezuelan People, which contemplates the recovery of resources retained in the international financial system due to the blockade, something that the ruling party assures that the anti-Chavismo failed to comply.
Leyva’s visit was surprisingly announced by the Colombian media on the morning of sunday april 16.
