During the swearing-in ceremony of the Board of Directors of the National Assembly of Regional Governments (ANGR) 2022, the president peter castle announced this Tuesday, February 8, that in the next few hours the new ministerial cabinet will be sworn in.
After days of uncertainty about the formation of a new ministerial cabinet, the president defined that today the new ministers will be sworn in and will form a “broad-based” team. In addition, he invited the ANGR to meet with him at the Government Palace starting at 8 p.m. to “work for the country.”

The truth is that Pedro Castillo still has not defined the premier who will lead his fourth Council of Ministers in less than seven months in government.
Yesterday there was some clarity when former Defense Minister Jorge Nieto revealed to this newspaper that Castillo had summoned him to “talk.” Nieto denied that he had been offered a cabinet position – at least before that appointment – but other sources pointed out that the former head of Culture is a strong option to be prime minister.
The same sources indicated that the sociologist had even set conditions to accept the position: coordinate directly with the president, without intermediary advisers; have more female ministers; and if the president wants to appoint more staff in the future, they must be qualified.
