Roraima had its power supply interrupted this Saturday night (15), from 4:20 pm. The cause of the blackout is being analyzed by Roraima Energia, the company responsible for the service.
According to Roraima Energia, the interruption of supply “to the entire electrical system” in the state was due to the “general shutdown of the thermoelectric park that serves the system”.
The resumption of loads was only started at 19:40, being concluded at 23:58.
“The causes of the general shutdown of the generating park, as well as the difficulties of recomposition, will be analyzed by the ONS [Operador Nacional do Sistema] and agents involved”, informed Roraima Energia through social networks.
The company took advantage of the event to claim speed for the interconnection of the state with the national electrical system, a measure that could prevent power outages resulting from failures in the local system.
“We hope that in the near future, Roraima will be interconnected to the national system, starting to benefit from a more robust and stable source”, concluded the note.
