Through a sowing campaign, carried out among broadcasters of Radius Quality and Radio One, from RCN Radiotogether with the ‘Vivero Paraíso Sembrando Vidas y Amigos Por El Mundo’ and other entities, at least a thousand flowering bushes were planted in the corridor of the Pan-American highway Cali – Jamundí.
The plants chosen for sowing respond to the conditions and nature of the place, with which it is hoped to avoid affecting the state of the road and the safety of those who travel through it in the future.

“There were three sections along the Pan-American highway where more than 1,500 plants of different species were planted, among them the Crotons and a beautiful plant called the Crown of Christ, they are multicolored silvers. There are bushes more or less about 80 to 90 centimeters tallsince having a concrete slab plate 50 centimeters from the ground, a garden had to be planted and that is how we embellished this separator,” said Karlos Calero, director of the news of Radio Quality of RCN Radio.
For his part, Hernando Betancourt, philanthropist and environmental leader who was part of the activity, indicated that “this is a gift from the people of Cali to the city and to the world. Together we are making Colombia the greenest country in the world, I have planted to date more than 13 million trees, in more than 117 different countries, and that is why today I helped by donating the material for this planting”.
With activities like these, hope to impact other sectors of Calisince according to the Administrative Department of Environmental Management, Dagma, in the city, according to the last tree census, there are about 293,000 trees, but after multiple plantings it is estimated that they could reach about 400,000.

“Despite the number of trees in the city, even so, there is a deficit of trees since according to international standards there must be at least 3 of these for every inhabitant, but the outlook in Cali is that there is 1 for every 9 caleños”, expressed councilman Terry Hurtado.
