The Association of Financial Institutions Specialized in Microfinance (Asofin) reported that from the instructions of the Financial System Supervision Authority (ASFI) They are analyzing the rescheduling, refinancing or grace periods of their clients who have credits.

“These alternatives, when the particular case warrants it, may incorporate grace periods and other aspects that help customers return to normality in the fulfillment of their credit obligations and, above all, normalize their economic activities for their particular progress and that of our country”, Escobar specified.

The ASFI circular seeks benefit people affected by the strike in Santa Cruz and by the climatic effects in the countrywhich cause problems for small, medium and large producers.

According to ASFI data, until the first half of 2022, the microcredit portfolio had a 29.3% share in the National Financial System, while of the 100% of the people who obtained a loan, 54% were served by microfinance banks.
