Avenida 18 de Julio will once again be pedestrianized this Saturday the 15th

The Municipality of Montevideo arranged that the 18th of July Avenue be pedestrian this Saturday April 15, between Andes and Ejido streets, from 12:00 to 15:00.

At 10 in the morning, in Plaza Cagancha, the so-called Plaza Bonita will be set up, a fair of entrepreneurship and crafts. And, starting at 12:00, a stage will be set up where there will be shows.

This is the first time in 2023 that the commune decides to make the avenue pedestrian. The first time he decided it was in 2020, in the middle of a pandemic.

Schedule for this Saturday:

11:00: Pedestrian tours “Crímenes de la ciudad” depart from Plaza Juan P. Fabini. Reports and reservations through @peatonaltours 90 minutes long.
11.30: Clowns with chalk all over the pedestrian.
10:00 to 15:00: In Plaza de Cagancha, Plaza Bonita entrepreneurship fair.
12:00 to 15:00: Shows in Cagancha square.
12.15: Ino Guridi, Uruguayan sound producer and artist, presents her debut album Pasará, with a mix of synthesizers, candombero-tinged beats and a deep voice.
1:00 p.m. Andrés Parrado & Deborah Mentions. Open class and tango dance demonstration.
13.30: Sodre National School of Artistic Training. folklore. Address: Jorge Caride.
2:30 p.m. Peeled Guru. Uruguayan hard rock band founded in 2007, with a studio album and steps through Argentina, Russia and Spain.
12:00: From Ejido and along the entire pedestrian street: C 1080 (first prize Lubolos 2023).
12.30 to 15.00: Fabini Square. El Picadero, with juggling, stilts, acrobatics.
12.30 and 14.00: Visit to the photographic balcony of the Photography Center (CdF) of the Administration. It offers the possibility of taking pictures from its Photographic Balcony, located on the top floor of its headquarters, located at Av. 18 de Julio 885 between Convención and Andes. Through a guided tour you can observe and learn more about the history of this emblematic building (former Miter Bazaar) and its surroundings. Free activity without registration. Arrive 10 minutes early. Minors must be accompanied. The visit is canceled due to rain.
1:00 p.m. Nicolás Lasa will make a dessert in homage to “La Cumparsita” at the Facal bar (Av. 18 de Julio and Yi). In this corner, a demonstration of tango dance has been offered for 15 years next to the Fuente de los Candados.
