They presented expansion in infrastructure for pediatric cancer patients
The President of the Republic, Luis Lacalle Pou, led the inauguration of works in the new Day Hospital, located in the Pereira Rossell Hospital Center.
The establishment, which receives children and adolescents with oncological pathologies, increased its infrastructure with the goal of improving the quality and comfort of care.
The investment was 3,850,000 dollars.
Also participating in the activity were the Vice President of the Republic, Beatriz Argimón; the Secretary of the Presidency, Álvaro Delgado; the Undersecretary of Public Health, José Luis Satdjian; and the president of the State Health Services Administration (ASSE), Leonardo Cipriani.
Also present were the director of the Pereira Rossell Hospital Center, Ricardo Ayestarán; the president of the Pérez Scremini Foundation, Gerardo Zambrano; the director of the Planning and Budget Office, Isaac Alfie, and the president of Antel, Gabriel Gurméndez.
The remodeling works of the hospitalization sector and the Day Hospital, which began in 2019 and were carried out in three stages, exceed 1,500 square meters and required an investment of $3,850,000. The works were executed with the objective of increasing the infrastructure and improving the quality and comfort of patient care.
Among the improvements made, the extension and reconditioning of exterior spaces and accesses, new offices, nursing room and immunotherapy sector stand out. A medical file, another reception and extraction rooms were created.
The president of ASSE, Leonardo Cipriani, highlighted the importance of the Pérez Scremini Foundation as a partner to achieve the fulfillment of objectives that save the lives of children and adolescents. He affirmed that it is a great pride, as a country, that children have the same opportunity to save themselves as if they lived in first world countries.
