German Congressman: The popular organization was strengthened after that 11A

The organization of Popular Power has been strengthened in these 21 years, a fact that is reflected in the political structure of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) in society. This was stated by the deputy of the National Assembly (AN) Juan Carlos Alemán in the program In the air, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), when recalling the rescue of the people from the constitutional order, after the coup d’état perpetrated by the Venezuelan extreme right, on April 11, 2002.

In this context, he explained that that coup, “insurrectionary, was supported by a group from the military leadership and the national media, as well as Fedecámaras and the Central de Trabajadores that did not represent anyone.”

In those days, “we did not have the intelligence mechanisms that we have today. We can say with great pride that we have social intelligence, the people in the communities, the people in the neighborhoods who inform, who are pending, who notify through various channels”.

The legislator recalled that, on April 13, 2002, “we were there, shortly after having seen all that disaster that the right wing made in a few hours; he dissolved the powers and immediately began to make arrests and then a witch hunt came, so we were already in the reaction ”.

In the Macarao parish where I am from, “rumors of looting and that kind of thing began to spread. And we with one person, with Carmelo González, we went to the square of the Macarao parish shopping center and we began to talk to people, we said, don’t look, we are going to be looting, here we are going to harm people, let’s go rather to save Chávez and we went on a march from Macarao to the alcabala 3 of Fuerte Tiuna”.

The parliamentarian added: “The levels that we can have today did not exist, where we have a solid base structure, street leaders, community leaders, heads of the UBCh, a parish political leadership, a municipal, state and national political leadership. , which is permanently in meeting”.

That April 13 was “the reaction of an indignant people, the reaction of a people who saw themselves mocked by those media, and well, we had no choice but to go to the streets, and we went to the streets.”

At that moment, “we found ourselves, we left Macarao with peddlers, barefoot people, with broken shoes, when we took the Cacique Guaicaipuro highway, it was a river of people, an impressive thing, we left with uncertainty, but we left with faith, with the hope of rescuing Chávez”.
