From the former National Congress, the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Vlado Mirosevic (PL), together with the leader of the Senate, Juan Antonio Coloma (UDI), presented the progress of the legislative agenda for the security situation in the country , defining 31 bills that must be processed in three stages.
The president of the Senate mentioned that when he took office he raised “the need to make a fast track legislature and the first person who was active was the speaker of the Chamber (Mirosevic). For his part, the president of the Lower House declared that “we have been working very intensively in recent weeks to reach what will probably be the pro-security agreement, the most important in recent decades.”
Along the same lines, Mirosevic specified that the 31 bills contained in the agreement will have “a processing in three stages, the first within the next few days, then in a 75-day horizon and then in a 150-day horizon.”
“There are major projects here, we know that not all the work is legislative, but at least in the legislative work we will do it quickly, efficiently and hopefully with the widest possible unity and these projects will be transformed into law,” the deputy added. liberal.
Among the initiatives that were carried out, is the cybersecurity project, critical information infrastructure, notification alternatives for administrative expulsions, regulations that modify conditional liberties, usurpation law, creation of the Ministry of Public Security, supraterritorial prosecutors, among others.
After presenting the progress, Deputy Eric Aedo (DC) pointed out to The counter that “I appreciate the announcement made by the president of the Senate, the Chamber of Deputies and the Government, to move decisively in the coming weeks on a security agenda that will mean around thirty projects”.
“It seems to me that the creation of a Ministry of Security, the cybersecurity project, organized crime, which regulates the situation of irregular migrants, are necessary projects, together with the critical infrastructure project and without a doubt the Rules of Use of the Strength,” he added.
Along the same lines, the parliamentarian invited “all political sectors not to put personal tastes first, not to put the agendas of each party first, but to put the common good at the center, which today is expressed through a great agreement on public security in favor of Chileans”.
