The Nicaraguan regime ordered its steamroller of deputies in the National Assembly to declare April 19 “National Day of Peace”, the date that commemorates the 2018 civic rebellion.

The decision, five days after that historic date, was announced by the Vice President of Nicaragua, Rosario Murillo, in her address this Thursday, April 13, through her propaganda media.

“Dr. Gustavo Porras -president of the National Assembly- informed us that in the coming days there will be a session to make a formal declaration of April 19, as National Day of Peace,” the first lady reported.

He affirmed that his regime “applauds” the supposed initiative of its deputies, assuring “that peace (…) is essential for life, that is why we declare ourselves defenders, guardians and human beings who protect peace as the main treasure.”

Ignoring the fact that his dictatorship is accused of crimes against humanity against opponents who demonstrated in social protests, Murillo said that it is necessary to “demand that we all move forward and see peace as the path to the future.”

“So April 19 will be the National Day of Peace in our Nicaragua (…) because all Nicaraguans are defenders, guardians of peace and goodness,” he added.

In a new attack against the Nicaraguan opposition, the deputy dictator returned with her repetitive hate speech, asserting that in the protests five years ago “they wanted to interrupt us; They filled us with blood, with fire, they set fire to hospitals, clinics, study centers, but they could not and will not».

He stressed that this month of April is to recognize, what he has described as a 2018 coup attempt, that “it was not possible with the nobility, the courage and courage of the Nicaraguan people (…)”.

This is the second time that the dictatorship tries to forget the repression that has extended to date in Nicaragua, the first time was when it declared National Sportsman’s Day, in honor of the deceased three-time world boxing champion Alexis Argüello, however it did not It has achieved its goal because the families of the victims and the international community continue to demand justice.

After five years of repression, the Ortega and Murillo administration does not cease its repressive level against Nicaraguans, because it has imprisoned, exiled and confiscated thousands of critics.

It also keeps more than 30 political prisoners behind bars, including Monsignor Rolando Álvarez, bishop of the Diocese of Matagalpa, whom he sentenced to 26 years in prison and stripped him of his nationality.
