The students demand that the director be reinstated in his position after the decision of Secondary

The IAVA high school studentswith the support of various unions and other social organizations, marched this Thursday afternoon along 18 de Julio Avenue towards the headquarters of the Central Board of Directors (Codicen) to demand the summary dismissal of the director of the institute, Leonardo Ruidíaz.
The high school was occupied in the morning and until after two in the afternoon, when the Police proceeded to evacuate the building, at the request of the Secondary authorities.
Gerónimo Sena, spokesman for the students, pointed out in dialogue with Underlined that the objective of the mobilizations and protest measures is to get Ruidíaz reinstated in his position.

By resolution of the General Directorate of Secondary Education -and after a recommendation from the legal division- the director of the IAVA was summoned and separated from the position with the withholding of 50% of his salary for six months, because it is presumed that he could have seriously failed in his duties as director of the center.
Ruidíaz refused to intervene at the request of the Secondary school authorities, who wanted the IAVA student union to vacate a room that it has been assigned since 2009 to carry out its union activity.
According to Secondary, the principal does not have a key to the room – which they maintain is actually an “access” to another part of the building – because the students put a chain and padlocked the door.
