The deputy of Broad Front, Ana Oliverahas expressed that the pension reform project must return to the executive branch. The legislator has reaffirmed what was said at the last press conference and has underlined the importance of returning the initiative to the Executive.

Olivera pointed out on Tuesday that his party has presented several questions to the government about the modifications of the project. In this sense, he has indicated that the Executive Power has sent about 52 new changes and additions, for a law that consists of 330 articles.

The Broad Front has already decided not to vote for the pension reform.

In addition, it has specified that on March 31 other modifications from the coalition’s own bench were added, which brings the number of modifications to almost one hundred. Added to this are the announced modifications that we still do not have precise knowledge of what they are.

The project must return to the government, says the FA

The Broad Front has also stated that it is essential that the project be sent back to organizations related to the issue. The deputy has argued that the initiative is of vital importance for the country and that it requires a careful and rigorous analysis before its approval.

For now, the pension reform, which is a flagship of the government of Luis Lacalle Pou, has not managed to get the votes in Parliament to be approved: Cabildo Abierto has presented dozens of modifications and has conditioned its votes to certain demands, and the Party Colorado remains unconvinced by the bill.
