After more than eight hours of searching, the artisanal miner, identified by the name of Edgar Saul Granja Garcia34, who had been buried in a tunnel on Las Nubes hill, in Santo Domingo, Chontales municipality, was rescued alive on Monday night.
According to the local media news pointthe incident occurred at around 10 in the morning this Monday, when Edgard, known as the “little miner”, along with his co-workers were preparing to carry out their activities for the day.
In the tunnel where the miner was buried, more than 100 people, including friends, residents, miners and relief services, worked hard to rescue the man, who did not stop when he came out of the hole to be attended to by the fire brigade and went to the Church to give thanks for getting out alive.

Likewise, to rescue the man, excavations were made in another gallery, since the miner was 40 feet deep.
Edgar Granja was rescued at about 6:40 p.m. this Monday, according to Punto Noticioso. Relatives of the miner thanked all the people who joined to rescue the man alive, in addition, they indicated that they never lost hope of rescuing him alive.
They reported that the “little miner” was taken to a local health center after leaving the Church.
On the Las Nubes hill there are several areas of mining exploitation in which hundreds of men work, extracting the precious metal in an artisanal way, in order to bring livelihood to their homes.
