One death due to a traffic accident and six injured is the preliminary result that Holy Week leaves in Chontales, however, the statistics did not report any person killed by submersion despite the high participation of vacationers in this area.
On April 6, on the Las Lajitas highway, in San Francisco de Cuapa, a citizen who was driving his motorcycle under the influence of liquor, fell to the cobblestones after losing control and due to serious injuries to the front of his head, was sent in a Red Cross ambulance to the Hospital Escuela Asunción, in Juigalpa.
In the hours of Friday night, Winston Jose Amador Martinez, 23 years old, suffered a head injury after colliding with a cow in front of the Prodesa fairground, in Juigalpa, where he was riding his motorcycle. In a private vehicle they took him to the assistance center in the departmental capital of Chontales.

In the early hours of this Saturday, a truck that was traveling from Managua to Bluefields turned around at kilometer 201 of the Juigalpa-El Rama highway, in the La Zopilota sector, in Villa Sandino, leaving three people injured. In a private vehicle they were sent to the local health center.
One dead in a traffic accident
The driver of a white Toyota Hilux one-cab truck, license plates CT 17275, rammed Saul Urbina, originally from the San Ramón region, jurisdiction of Juigalpa, causing his death instantly. The deceased carried a third of firewood, however, everything was watered on the side of the road.
The tragedy occurred at kilometer 143 of the Juigalpa-El Rama highway, and after hitting the pedestrian, the driver tried to flee, but at that moment the detachment of the transmission bar frustrated the intentions.
At around 6:40 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, another vehicle ran over the well-known character from Juigalpa, Elio Marinaffectionately known as a “tremor”, who was transferred in delicate health conditions to the Asunción Hospital, where he is recovering.
Until the closing of this note, the members of the rescue and salvage organizations did not report deaths due to submersion. Last year, the Easter statistics recorded two drowned; one in the El Salto spa, in Juigalpa, and another in a community of El Ayote.
