Before being sent to El Salvador, the diplomat was also Nicaragua’s ambassador to Russia and concurrent in the Georgian separatist region of Abkhazia, replacing Maher Hani Rimawi, a Palestinian with Nicaraguan citizenship.
The Ortega official also served as advisor to the Presidency of the dictator Daniel Ortega for affairs of the Russian Federation and Belarus.
