The goal of the initiative is that by the end of 2022 all the country’s municipalities have quality internet access and in principle it will benefit 26 of 108 localities without a wireless connection or with a wired internet service network, which will impact more than 2.1 million people.

In that sense, he commented that connectivity today is as important as electricity.

On your side, Kelvin Cruzalso mayor of La Vega, stated that the activity marks a milestone for the country and especially for the municipality, because “it is not possible that we have twenty-six totally isolated and disconnected municipalities.”

He added that under these conditions no investor is going to invest. “We are going to take on this challenge responsibly”.

While the president of Indotel, Nelson Brookdeclared that “this project consists of the deployment of digital infrastructure that allows offering the fixed internet service through fiber optics to the home, in the municipalities that Indotel has identified that do not have fixed connectivity.”
