People do not become aware to avoid plant mass fires

Captain Martiniano Núñez, national chief of Rescue of the Meritorious Fire Department of Panama, indicated that plant mass fires occur mainly because people are not aware and do activities that cause them.

“We campaign so that people become aware of not committing this type of act, now that we were in Operation Easter 2023 the incidents (vegetable mass fires) occurred more inland due to the number of people who traveled for the days on holidays, we always try to have our staff close to the areas to prevent its spread,” Núñez explained.
