"They took advantage of my naivety": Alleged 'Duke' and millionaire paisa heir accused of fraud defended himself

He and his mother are accused of defrauding at least 18 people who, according to what they said, “said he was a supposed ‘Duke’ who, due to his lineage, would inherit a million from the Spanish crown.”

Colombian News.

The man who had already been pointed out by a couple of lawyers who decided to denounce him for an alleged fraud by stating that he was a ‘Duke’ and heir to a million-dollar Spanish crown, defended himself.

The story of Alejandro Estrada became known last March and it was precisely a couple of lawyers who stated that they lent him money but over time they began to find some inconsistencies, to the point of confirming with the Court of Spain that the legacy of the supposed ‘Duke’ did not exist.

«I am not a false Duke»

Because Alejandro, according to what he specified, was receiving threats, he had not spoken and only the version of the lawyer couple was known. However, Estrada decided to speak on Blu Radio and told details of his own version.

He began by saying that “I am not a false ‘Duke’ paisa”, according to him with this what they have sought is to make “a media circle”.

Kelly and Andrés are the names of the lawyer couple who filed the complaints and made them public.

What Alejandro says is that he met them when he was studying at a university and Kelly, then, was his teacher.

Their relationship went beyond student and teacher because he decided to talk to them about his case.

Contrary to what Kelly says, according to Estrada she was “very friendly”, they talked a lot during lunch hours.

The relationship happened so much that after a while Kelly would have invited Alejandro to eat in her apartment, there she introduced him to her husband and in the middle of the conversation they told her that they had investigated her family.

“Who is leading the succession process for your grandfather?” This surprised the man, who in turn said that “it was not normal.”

“She told me that my grandfather had left an inheritance and that it needed to be claimed,” said Estrada, who also stated that “she did not know of such a succession or of any inheritance.”

Alejandro tells that by asking with his family, they never found the history of goods that his grandfather had left behind.

Did they cheat on him?

In the version of Alejandro Estrada supposed ‘Duke’ paisa, it is that the couple of lawyers in Colombiawould have helped him process the succession process.

“I was not even enough for the basics,” says Estrada about the alleged scam with the money he collected that does not obey the same value that the lawyers have been mentioning.

“I asked a friend for $300 million to pay lawyers’ fees, travel expenses and so on,” he explains.

He says that what the lawyer couple did was ask him for money “but they got it with family and friends”, all Alejandro had to do was “sign papers”, according to him.

The man states that Kelly told him “they are going to lend you the money but you pay them double.”

«I believed everything they told me, because they were lawyers and I trusted them. They took advantage of my naivety and my need to believe in something,” Alejandro said.

the first versions

With the same story he managed to deceive 18 people whom he defrauded, took money and a lawyer couple also fell, providing their services to the person involved; All these nuances have the story of the false Spanish ‘Duke’.

According to the initial complaints, Alejandro claimed to be the heir to a large fortune on behalf of his relatives in Spain, because according to him, his grandfather “came to have the title of the Duke of Cardona,” they reported on Radio Ambulante, the Spanish media outlet he met. this case and collects the complaint from one of those affected by this scam.

His grandfather had left the war fleeing to Costa Rica, was in Panama and ended up in Colombia, where he would have left part of his lineage.

The man claimed to be the new ‘Duke’ paisa of the Spanish crown for being the only man from his mother’s birth onwards.

Alejandro promised to have a historical legacy and that after the money from that supposed legacy arrived, he would catch up on the outstanding debts.

He made those who saw him swear to keep everything in reserve.

This is how he did it with a couple that he looked for in a university in the country, reached them and with his fictitious story he managed to deceive them.

He asked them for a $20 million loan, the couple agreed because the alleged duke claimed that “he had to meet 100 requirements” for them to deliver the money from the inheritance.

Among those was “having a business and not depending on any family member”, the money received would be exactly to open a business.

According to Alejandro, the Court of Spain, “by mistake released a part: almost 28 million dollars, and deposited them directly into Alejandro’s bank account.”
