Central Bank (BC) instant transfer system, Pix broke a new record last Thursday (6). For the first time, the modality surpassed the mark of 120 million transactions in 24 hours.
On the last day 6 alone, 122.4 million transfers were made via Pix to end users. The high demand did not compromise the functioning of the functionality. According to BC, the systems worked with stability throughout the day.
The previous record had been registered on December 20, with 104.1 million transactions in a single day. On that date, the period for payment of the second installment of the Christmas bonus had ended.
Created in November 2020, Pix accumulates 146.4 million users, of which 134.8 million individuals and 11.6 million legal entities. In September 2022, the system surpassed the mark of BRL 1 trillion moved per month.
