MADRID, Spain.- The musicians Yotuel Romero and Jen Carlos Canela premiered on April 6 the video clip of “Sueño”, a song dedicated to the freedom of Cuba.
“Sueño”, available on YouTube, had the collaboration of the renowned Cuban trumpeter Arturo Sandoval.
The Cuban-American Jen Carlos Canela, also an actor and resident in the United States, shared the video on her Twitter account. instagramalong with a message dedicated to his father.
“Happy birthday daddy! This song is more yours than mine. It couldn’t have been a better day. In honor of that dream of seeing our Cuba free that you planted in me as a child. I love you!” wrote the musician.
For his part, Yotuel Romero, who since Facebook had announced the premiere of the song the day before, it has received hundreds of messages of praise.
“I know that the sun is about to rise again, that we are about to hold hands. Fill ourselves with illusion again, and overcome all the bad things of the past”, is heard in a fragment of the song, referring to the confidence of the musicians that the freedom of Cuba is close to arriving.
“The only thing I want is freedom”, reads the chorus of “Sueño”.
Yotuel Romero, Jen Carlos Canela and Arturo Sandoval have kept asking for a future for Cuba where human rights are respected; just as they have demanded the release of political prisoners.
In addition to the song “Patria y Vida”, which has become the Cuban anthem, Yotuel has recently released songs calling for the freedom of Cuba, such as “Lambo en Varadero”, also prohibited by the regime.
Another recent and highly applauded theme, dedicated to the Island, is “Bread for Yolanda”, by Aymée Nuviola and the Spanish singer-songwriter Melendi.
