Airports and bus stations expect intense movement during Easter

A survey by the Brazilian Airport Infrastructure Company (Infraero) shows that more than 651,000 passengers are expected to travel to the country’s 21 commercial airports during the Easter holiday, which represents an increase of 54% compared to the same holiday last year. In 2022, 422,300 departures and arrivals were recorded during this period.

The expectation, according to Infraero, is that the busiest days are this Thursday (6), with 159,600 passengers and 1,209 takeoffs and landings, and Monday (10), with 160,000 passengers and 1,216 movements estimated aircraft. 4,900 landings and takeoffs are also planned in the period, a volume 40% higher than the 3,500 flights carried out in 2022

Due to the high flow of passengers, Infraero recommends that passengers arrive at the airport at least one and a half hours in advance for domestic flights and three hours for international flights. Security and fluidity measures were also reinforced in the operations and functioning of the airport infrastructure, with the objective of maintaining the levels of comfort and safety of airport users.

The main destinations are Belo Horizonte, Florianópolis, Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro, Sul de Minas, coast and interior of São Paulo. To meet the demand, 655 extra buses were made available.

In Brasilia, the forecast is that 24,000 passengers will circulate through the city’s bus terminal from today until Monday. According to Socicam, between this Thursday and Friday alone, around 9,000 people are expected to travel from Brasília, mainly to Fortaleza, Salvador, Goiânia, Belo Horizonte, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
