Peruvian athlete, the first to cross the finish line of the Ironman 70.3 Panama

The Peruvian Salvador Ruiz and the Frenchwoman representing Panama, Lea Riccoboni were the first to cross the finish line this Sunday in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively, of the Ironman 70.3 Panama sponsored by Michelob Ultra.

More than a thousand athletes from all over the world participated in this important sporting event, demonstrating proof of courage, strength and bravery.

Salvador Ruíz, 35 years old, stopped the stopwatches at 4 hours, 12 minutes and 27 seconds under a salvo of applause from the public enabled at the arrival.

The Argentinean, Martin Gallardo, with 4 hours, 15 minutes and 22 seconds, and Gabriel Terán from Ecuador, with 4 hours, 19 minutes and 59 seconds, completed the podium.

In the ladies, Lea Riccoboni, 28 years old, who used a time of 4 hours, 33 minutes and 19 seconds. The Venezuelans who represented Panama, Williana Rojas Moya, 39, with a time of 4 hours, 38 minutes and 51 seconds, and Daniela Araujo completed the podium with a time of 4 hours, 42 minutes and 53 seconds, occupying the second and third place respectively.

The first relay team to cross the finish line was the team made up of Isaac Beitía (swimming), Sandi Guerra (Cycling) and Jorge Castelblanco (runner), who finished with a time of 3 hours, 46 minutes and 5 seconds, representing the host country.
