New detainees implicated in the corruption case against the CVG

The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported this Sunday on the arrest of new people involved in the corruption case against the Venezuelan Corporation of Guayana (CVG).

The information was released by the prosecutor in his account in the Twitter social network.

The detainees are: Lino Mora, Executive Vice President of the CVG; Tulio Medina, Vice President of Finance; Carlos Moreno, Traffic and Customs manager; Johan Sequera, Director of the Office and Isaac Mouhamad Salazar, Manager of Legal Affairs of the company.

In past days, Pedro Maldonado, president of the CVG and vice-minister of Industries, was arrested; Néstor Astudillo, president of the Siderúrgica del Orinoco (Sidor); Felipe Santiago Contreras, Vice President of Iron and Steel (CVG); Edgar José Sánchez La Mantía, Vice President of Strategic Planning and Marketing (CVG;) and General Julmer Rafael Ochoa Romero, Head of Security (CVG).

Due to the acts of corruption, the National Government appointed a Audit Board of the Venezuelan Corporation of Guayana (CVG).

In the decree – published in the Official Gazette – it was specified that the intervention process of CVG will be carried out in accordance with the previous guidelines in it.

In this regard, it is detailed that the intervention process will last one year from the date of publication of this decree.

The intervention will be in charge of a board made up of a president or president, a vice president or vice president and three main members with their respective alternates.

It should be remembered that the operation against the CVG was carried out after the investigations carried out by the National Executive, as well as the statements provided by the criminal network in the case. called PDVSA-Crypto.

In the latter, more than 20 people are in custody, of which 19 have already been brought before the courts.

Citizens, including judges, public officials and businessmen, are deprived of liberty.
